The piece explores the musical and sonic possibilities of a custom sequencer/slicer made in Max/MSP that uses a single piano sample. The video is a capture of a 3D environment depicting a fictional city, the image is processed and reshuffled in Jitter, creating a sense of movement and acceleration. The two compositions occur simultaneously: 1) sonically, a single element is fragmented and reorganized to create a larger structure; 2) visually, the large static structure of the city is sliced into smaller independent elements. The two processes mirror each other in construction and deconstruction.
