Senderos

Senderos is an open score where the performers are presented with four different digital landscapes through a video, each of the landscapes represents a musical movement in the piece. A separate score outlines the musical parameters associated with particular features of each landscape. As the video progresses, the performers interpret the landscape features through their playing and articulate musical parameters such as rhythm, pitch, and extended techniques, in a collective improvisation.

The video score was created using BlenderGIS to import satellite imagery and turn it into 3D models. These were imported into Unity, where an automated camera is used to move through the different landscapes creating the structure for the score.
