Scanner Instrument

This is a digital musical instrument that uses an array of optical sensors to control FM synthesis. An Arduino is used to receive data the array of sensors and is sent to Max/MSP. Each sensor is used to control an oscillator in Max/MSP in a one-to-one fashion, however, the activation of multiple sensors has effects on the tuning of the oscillator array. The instrument can be performed by using papers with different black, white, or greyscale patterns that are ran under the optical sensor array.
