A/V performance

This is an A/V performance that is musically inspired in minimalist and ambient aesthetics, using repetition and layering of multiple digital samples. These samples are later used as sonic material to process in real time. The samples are triggered and manipulated using a custom Max patch that is controlled using an AKAI APC40. The Max patch enables control of the length of the different loops, volume, pan, mute, pitch and sends to outboard sound effects. The length of the samples used, can go from an audible range (where the sample can be identified), to an unidentifiable range where the sample turns into pitch material.

The visual material was made from a screen recording of a live coding session in the Hydra environment (hydra.ojack.xyz). The screen recording was edited, sped up and layered onto itself, creating interesting patterns that derive from the chromakeying and the internal processing happening on each section of the screen recording.

This recording is from a live performance at The Bridge PAI for the Telemetry concert series at Charlottesville, VA.
